Consider appointment of six Regular Members (Position Nos. 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11) to the Youth Advisory Board for terms to expire December 31, 2027.
Body
Regular Members Janine Fields (Position No. 1), DeMarko Grant (Position No. 3), Romeo Ahmad (Position No. 5), Cassandra Morris (Position No. 7), Alexa Chapman (Position No. 9) and Daniel Perez (Position No. 11) are eligible for reappointment and have agreed to serve another term, if appointed. All members serve alternating two-year terms with a limit of three terms.
Position Nos. 1 - 5 do not require City of Mesquite residency.
This board:
* Serves as a liaison to the City Council and make recommendations regarding Mesquite Youth Council initiatives.
* Provides recommendations to the City Council on youth-focused programs and policies.
* Monitors and evaluates City programming related to youth and suggest enhancements.
* Acts as a forum for exchanging information related to current and future Mesquite Youth Council programs.
* Updates the City Council on the status of Mesquite Youth Council initiatives as needed.
