An ordinance authorizing Field Training Officer assignment pay (FTO pay) for Firefighter Paramedics of the Mesquite Fire Department who are assigned to perform the specialized function of a Field Training Officer during working hours, effective January 1, 2025.

 

Body

This ordinance will amend the additional pay to commissioned Fire personnel, who have been designated by the Fire Chief of the Mesquite Fire Department and satisfy certain conditions and criteria to perform the specialized function of a Field Training Officer “FTO” during working hours in the amount of $240.00 per month.

 

Financial Implications

The annual cost for this program is estimated at $61,000.00 and would be added in the amended Fire Department budget.

Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
