The purpose of this project is to relocate water, sewer, and fiber utilities along Beltline Road at U.S. Highway 80 as part of the proposed Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) construction.  There will be approximately 152 linear feet of 8-inch PVC sanitary sewer, 1,164 linear feet of various-sized PVC water lines, steel casing pipe extensions, and City fiber relocations via bore and open-cut methods.

 

This project is anticipated to begin in August 2025 and to be completed by January 2026. Bid notices were broadcast through the BidNet Direct electronic procurement system, posted on the City’s website, and published in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper.  A total of two responsive bids were received.  Staff has reviewed the qualifications and recommends award of the base bid to J&L Construction, LLC.

 

Financial Implications

The contract will be allocated with Water and Sewer Project funds.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends that the City Manager be authorized to finalize and execute a contract with J&L Construction, LLC.
