Title
An ordinance amending Chapter 9 of the City Code thereby providing a new school zone for Trinity Basin Preparatory School and a revised school zone for Vanston Middle School.
Body
The Mesquite Police Department requested an extension of the school zone for Vanston Middle School, west along Oates Drive, to better accommodate student crossing patterns. The new school zone will now include students crossing at Forrest Drive.
In addition, administration from the new Trinity Basin Preparatory School on East Meadows Boulevard requested establishment of a school zone along East Meadows Boulevard that will encompass both entrances to the school and adjacent intersections for potential student crossings.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
