The purpose of this project is to construct approximately 4,200 square yards of concrete street pavement and over 16,000 square yards of asphalt pavement across three collector streets. The proposed repair methods include varying sections such as asphalt, asphalt with curb and gutter, concrete, and concrete with monolithic curb. Additional improvements include pavement markings, guardrails, and pedestrian facilities.

These sections of roadway were selected based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) score and traffic volumes.  In addition, Mariposa Drive and Tripp Road are seen as critical commercial traffic alternate routes due to ongoing US 80 and IH 635 construction in the vicinity.

This project is anticipated to begin in August 2025 and to be completed by February 2026.

Bid notices were broadcast through the BidNet Direct electronic procurement system, posted on the City’s website, and published in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper.  A total of four responsive bids were received.  Staff has reviewed the qualifications and recommends award of the base bid to Texas Materials Group, Inc.

Financial Implications

The contract will be allocated with Street Bonds and Concrete Streets Pavement Preservation Funds.
