Receive briefing regarding the IH-635 East Project.

During the Pre-Meeting, staff will provide a briefing regarding the IH-635 East Project which extends from US Highway 75 to IH-30. The portion of the project in Mesquite extends from the IH-30/IH-635 interchange to the north city limit. Council approved Resolution No. 50-2016 on November 21, 2016, requesting that improvements to the IH-635 and IH-30 interchange be funded with the rest of the project and included in the 10-Year Regional Unified Transportation Improvement Plan.
The Texas Department of Transportation has scheduled a public hearing for the project on January 31, 2017. Staff will present information on the proposed improvements and changes to the portion of the project in Mesquite and seek direction from Council on providing comments at the public hearing.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff requests Council direction for input at the public hearing.
