Body

A remount is a complete refurbishing of the box of the ambulance.  The box is removed from the old chassis and given a thorough cleaning inside and outside.  Worn and damaged interior and exterior items are replaced or repaired.  Major items replaced include the generator, interior lighting, air conditioner and the exterior emergency lighting system.  This remount will also repair and restripe the exterior of the box.  Once all repairs are completed, the box is reattached to a new chassis.

There are two ambulances scheduled for remount during the 2016-17 budget year.  This ambulance is the first remount for this budget year. The City Council approved $165,000.00 in the 2016-17 budget for the remount of Unit 1100034 to be located at Fire Station No. 7.  The remaining funding in this project will be used to purchase a new automatic patient loading system and compatible cot.  This patient load system is being installed on all of Mesquite’s front line ambulances.  These load systems greatly enhance the safety of the fire department members in the delivery of care to Mesquite’s citizens and visitors.
