Title

A resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute and approve the Project Specific Agreement (PSA) amending the Master Agreement Governing Major Capital Transportation Improvement Projects with Dallas County for the purpose of transportation improvements on Scyene Road beginning at Clay Mathis Road and ending at Lawson Road, Dallas County Major Capital Improvement Program Project 31904.

Body

This project will reconstruct Scyene Road from Clay Mathis Road to Lawson Road to accommodate heavy truck traffic in support of development activities on vacant industrially zoned land near the Mesquite Metro Airport.  Dallas County has allocated $3,800,000.00 for this project, which represents approximately 50 percent of the paving and drainage construction costs.  The PSA commits the City to match funds in the amount of $3,800,000.00 for paving and drainage cost. In addition, the City is responsible for utility and aesthetic improvement project costs that exceed the total matched funds. Based on preliminary project scoping, the City of Mesquite estimates that the total cost for the project is approximately $9,400,000.00 with the City share estimated at $5,600,000.00.  Funding for this project is included in the City’s Capital Improvement Plan.
