Title
A resolution urging the 85th Texas Legislature to provide funding for the reconstruction of IH 635 East from US 75 to IH 30 to include the interchange of IH 635 and IH 30.
Body
On November 16, 2016, Council passed Resolution No. 50-2016 supporting the inclusion of the IH 635 and IH 30 interchange in the 10-year Regional Unified Transportation Plan. Reconstruction of this critical $300 million interchange is in jeopardy due to lack of funding by the Texas Legislature and the Legislature’s unwillingness to permit the partial funding of the project using managed toll lanes via a public-private partnership. Failure to fund the reconstruction of the interchange with the rest of the IH 635 East Project will adversely affect the financial health of the Town East restaurant and retail area, increase our citizen’s commute times, and adversely affect our citizen’s health and air quality.
