An ordinance amending Chapter 5 of the City Code thereby adopting the 2014 Edition of the National Electric Code, effective May 15, 2017.
Body
The Mesquite Building Standards Board met on November 29, 2016, and voted to recommend that the City Council adopt the 2014 Edition of the National Electric Code, with amendments.
One substantive amendment was reviewed and recommended for adoption by an advisory committee of the North Central Texas Council of Governments and conforms to building practice within the region. The local amendments are carried over from the City’s adopted electric code, which is based on the 2011 Edition.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends adoption of the proposed ordinance.
