Body

The current inventory of 10 rugged tablets used by the Fire EMS Division will be out of warranty in May 2017 after four years of service.  This scheduled replacement includes the rugged tablets and mounting docks in the ambulances.  The Fire and IT Departments evaluated Panasonic and Dell rugged tablets over a four-month period and determined that Panasonic would be the best solution to meet the Fire EMS Division’s unique requirements.  This purchase is a part of the larger mobile data computer purchase that was approved by the City Council in December 2016.

 

Financial Implications

Funding for this purchase is part of the Fiscal Year 2016-17 bond sale.
