This request is for the purchase of 250 Vista HD WiFi Body Cameras, along with accessories and a 36-month warranty for each body camera. The Mesquite Police Department intends to replace current body cameras with the newest version available. The new product will integrate with the in-car camera systems to allow for easier use and better coverage of police events.
Financial Implications
Funding in the amount of $87,546.96 is available in the General Fund and $224,773.04 is available from the Fiscal Year 2016-17 Confiscated Seizure Fund account. The City Council approved the purchase of body-worn cameras as a part of Amendment No. 4 to the Fiscal Year 2016-17 Confiscated Seizure budget on March 20, 2017.
