Due to increased citizen complaints regarding fireworks and celebratory gunfire incidents during the January 1, 2017, holiday, the Mesquite Police and Fire Departments were tasked with reducing the use of illicit fireworks and celebratory gunfire within the City of Mesquite. During the Pre-Meeting, the Police Chief and Fire Chief will brief the City Council regarding efforts each department will take to reduce these incidents during the upcoming July 4th holiday period.
