Consider appointment of an alternate member to the STAR Transit Board of Directors for a term to expire on January 21, 2019.
Body
With the execution of an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement between the City of Mesquite and STAR Transit, the City is authorized to have a full member and an alternate member on the STAR Transit Board of Directors. Board members serve four-year terms and may be elected or appointed officials or other residents of Mesquite. Council approved Mayor Pickett to serve as the primary member and Jerome J. Dittman as an alternate member in 2015. With Mr. Dittman’s retirement, staff recommends considering a new alternate in Mr. Dittman’s position.
Recommended/Desired Action
Council will consider appointing Valerie Bradley as an alternate to the STAR Transit Board of Directors for a term to expire on January 21, 2019.
