Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute a change order with Criado and Associates, Inc., for additional engineering and design services in conjunction with the Town East Boulevard Reconstruction Project from US Highway 80 to Skyline Drive in an amount of $92,189.50.

On December 19, 2016, Council approved the original engineering design contract with Criado and Associates, Inc. (Criado) for the design of Town East Boulevard from US Highway 80 to Skyline Drive in the amount of $1,348,437.00. As part of the design process Staff is planning to hold a public hearing to provide project information and seek public input and comments regarding the project.
In conjunction with the Town East Boulevard Reconstruction Project, consideration has been given to the discuss options for future design and construction of Skyline Drive. Staff has directed Criado to prepare a Traffic Impact Analysis and preliminary schematics for Skyline Drive that was not part of the original contract. Criado will prepare the schematic layout and traffic analysis to present at the upcoming public meeting.
Financial Implications
The change order for additional engineering and design services will be funded from the existing project.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the change order.
