Title

Approve Amendment No. 1 to the 2017-18 Police Seizure Budget in accordance with Title 28, Section 524 of the United States Code and Chapter 59 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure in the amount of $288,000.00.

 

Body

Pursuant to Title 28, Section 524 of the United States Code and Chapter 59 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedures, the City of Mesquite has adopted a budget to account for funds awarded as a result of court forfeitures and contraband, and expenditures from these proceeds may only be used for law enforcement purposes in accordance with federal and state regulations. The fiscal year 2017-18 Confiscated Seizure Fund Budget is amended to include expenditures of the following items:

 

Replacement Gas Masks and Cartridges                     $70,000

Replacement Vehicle for Crime Prevention                     $39,000

Active Shooter Training Masks                     $3,000

Weights for Police Gym                     $2,000

Row Machine for Police Gym                     $2,000

CPR Supplies                     $3,000

Xerox Phaser 7800GX Printer                     $15,000

Bullet Recovery System                     $120,000

Stop Sticks                     $5,000

Protective Equipment for Fentanyl Exposure                     $25,000

Narcan (Naloxone HCI) Nasal Spray                     $4,000

Total Requested                     $288,000
