Body

This project will construct approximately 900 linear feet of 12-inch water line, approximately 40 linear feet of 15-inch sanitary sewer line, one sanitary sewer manhole and installation of one fire hydrant. This construction will also provide a connection point to the City of Mesquite’s water and sanitary sewer for the new Ashley Furniture facility, satisfying part of the Chapter 380 Agreement.

 

Bid notices were broadcast through BidSync electronic bidding system, published in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper and posted on the City’s website. Seven bids were received. With bid alternate, the lowest bidder was not changed. The City’s design consultant has reviewed the references and other qualification information and recommends award of the base bid to the low bidder LKG Resources.

 

Financial Implications

Funding is allocated in the annual Capital Improvement Budget to support this construction project.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to finalize and execute a contract with low bidder LKG Resources, LLC.
