Title

Conduct a public hearing and consider a resolution authorizing and creating the Polo Ridge Public Improvement District (PID) to include approximately 822.1 acres of land generally located south of FM 740, west of FM 2757 and north of Kelly Road in Kaufman County, Texas, located within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Mesquite, Texas, in accordance with Chapter 372 of the Texas Local Government Code.

 

Body

In order to facilitate new development in Kaufman County, staff recommends creation of the Polo Ridge Public Improvement District (PID). The proposed district includes approximately 822.1 acres of land generally located south of FM 740, west of FM 2757 and north of Kelly Road, in Kaufman County, within the City’s extraterritorial jurisdiction.

 

Revenues from the PID will be used for roadway improvements, lighting, signage, and other infrastructure projects and amenities needed to support the residential development. The total estimated infrastructure cost is not to exceed $14,000,000.00.

 

The notice of the public hearing was published in the Dallas Morning News and the Forney Messenger newspapers on November 16, 2017. Approving this resolution would create the Polo Ridge Public Improvement District (PID).

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Following the public hearing, staff recommends approval of the resolution.
