Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute a grant agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation, Aviation Division, for participation in the Routine Airport Maintenance Program (RAMP) in the amount of $80,000.00.
Body
The Routine Airport Maintenance Program (RAMP) is an annual grant that provides financial assistance solely and exclusively for airport maintenance work such as crack sealing, pavement marking, grading, drainage, weed control, fencing and other federally approved miscellaneous items on the airfield. Items scheduled for Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-2018 will include monthly fees for the Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS) Nadin interface link to the National Weather Service, an AWOS maintenance service contract, fence repairs and terminal ramp drainage repairs.
Financial Implications
The airport operating budget for FY 2017-2018 includes matching funds for the annual RAMP projects. The grant is a 50/50 match with an $80,000.00 cap.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a grant agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation, Aviation Division.
