Receive briefing regarding the Texas Department of Transportation Ethics Requirements

In June 2017, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) performed an evaluation of all grant recipients’ internal ethics and compliance programs as outlined in Title 43 of the Texas Administrative Code §10.51. As a result of this review, TxDOT required the following change to the Council Rules of Procedure, Section 2:
The City Council shall participate in annual ethics training that includes ethical rules in all applicable regulations, including but not limited to federal and state law, the Mesquite Charter, the Mesquite Code of Ordinances and these rules.
During the Council Pre-Meeting, staff will present to Council the required ethics information.
Recommended/Desired Action
No action of the City Council is required.
