Title
A resolution authorizing the sale of a tax-foreclosed property located at 314 South Ebrite Street, Mesquite, Texas, accepting the offer from the purchaser to purchase the property, ratifying and approving the offer and purchase agreement executed by the purchaser setting forth the terms and conditions of the sale of the property, and authorizing the City Manager to execute a quitclaim deed and all other documents necessary or requested to complete the closing and sale of the property.

A list of tax-foreclosure properties available for sale is posted on the City’s website. The City received an offer of $3,000.00 on the unimproved, landlocked property located at 314 South Ebrite Street.
The offer fell under Texas Tax Code §34.05(i). A sale under this code requires the purchaser to pay the post-judgment taxes, penalties and interest to the taxing entities and requires the consent of all taxing units entitled to processed from the sale.
The approximate amount of the post-judgment taxes, penalties and interest is $1,848.30.
Mesquite Independent School District’s Board of Trustees approved the sale on October 16, 2017. The Dallas County Commissioners Court approved the sale on November 21, 2017, with Court Order 2017-1523.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends Council approval of the resolution.
