In 2016, a Master Plan of improvements for Camp Rorie Galloway was developed. Improvements would be implemented in phases based on availability of funds and favorable pricing. Phase One was completed in June of 2017 and included the construction of a basketball court and an artificial turf volleyball court. Phase Two will replace the wood frame picnic pavilion, which was demolished in 2016 due to deterioration, and will be completed before summer camp begins. As funds become available, future phases include the addition of a park office, outdoor fireplace and enhancements to the surrounding area.

Bids for the pavilion and office, Bid No. 2018-022, significantly exceeded the available budget and were subsequently rejected. The scope was revised and a two-part strategy was developed in order to reduce the cost. Part One includes the purchase of a 3,000-square-foot pre-engineered picnic pavilion and Part Two secures the contract for construction of the associated infrastructure including site preparations, paving, utility work and enhancements to the pavilion.

The scope of work includes preparing the site for the new pavilion, constructing the foundation, adding stone column wraps with decorative light fixtures and completing underground utility modifications. Construction will coordinate with the separately purchased pre-engineered pavilion and meets City Building Code requirements.
