Title
An ordinance amending Chapter 9 of the City Code by deleting provisions that allow commercial vehicle parking at a motel or hotel upon approval of the City Council.
Body
The proposed ordinance amends Section 9-169(b)(1) by deleting all of subsection f. This amendment would eliminate the provision that authorizes hotel owners to request approval from the City Council to have truck parking at their hotel location.
Six hotels have been approved for truck parking under the ordinance, two of which no longer exist. The last approval was more than 20 years ago. The most recent request was in March 2017 when the Days Inn requested approval for truck parking. The City Council denied their request.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
