Title

A resolution approving the terms and conditions of the Fifth Amendment to the Communications Facilities License with Dallas MTA, L.P., d/b/a Verizon Wireless, to replace equipment to the City’s Service Center property and authorizing the City Manager to administer the agreement on behalf of the City.

Body

Verizon Wireless currently holds a communications facilities license with the City for leased space at the City’s communication tower located at the Service Center. At the July 17, 2017, City Council meeting, the City Council entered into a Fourth Amendment of the License Agreement to allow Verizon to install dark fiber (unused fiber-optic cable) and an associated fiber junction box on the City Service Center Property in preparation for future use.

Verizon is requesting a Fifth Amendment that will allow Verizon to add three new antennas and remove six diplexers on the City Service Center communication tower.

Financial Implications

Since there were no significant changes in the load that Verizon’s equipment puts on the tower, staff is recommending no adjustment in the annual rent.

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends approval of the resolution.
