Consider appointment of six members to the Animal Services Advisory Board for terms to expire September 8, 2018.
Body
The Animal Services Advisory Board consists of nine members and acts as an advisory body to the City. The Board shall review operations of the City Animal Shelter, provide guidance to the Animal Services Division in complying with all provisions of the V.T.C.A. Health and Safety Code, Chapter 823, as amended, and perform such other duties as may be assigned by the City Council.
There are currently six vacancies on the Animal Services Advisory Board. As a result of a restructuring of Animal Services, staff recommends the appointments of Jeanne Saadi, which satisfies the requirement of a position that oversees the daily operation of the animal shelter; and Raymond Rivas as the municipal official on the Advisory Board. All appointments expire September 8, 2018.
