The current Crime Scene van was purchased and placed into service in 2003. The 2003 Chevrolet Astro van has served the Mesquite Police Department (MPD) well for many years; however, the MPD is in need of a vehicle that would assist the Crime Scene Unit to be more efficient on scenes.
Financial Implications
The fiscal year 2017-18 budget includes $200,000 in public safety equipment for the crime scene vehicle and related equipment, which will be reimbursed by the Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation.
