Conduct a public hearing and consider an ordinance for Application No. Z0218-0024, submitted by Mohammad Qureshi on behalf of Qureshi and Nguyen Properties, to amend Planned Development Ordinance No. 3870 to allow additional uses on the property located at 3730 U.S. Highway 80.
(No responses to the application have been received from property owners within the statutory notification area. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommends approval of the application with certain stipulations.)
Body
The applicant has an existing retail building with two suites. One suite is the location of Charley’s restaurant. The other suite is approximately 900 square feet and has been vacant for many months. The applicant has indicated that he has had difficulty finding a tenant for the vacant suite that would be permitted under the existing ordinance and would like to expand the list of uses permitted in the Planned Development (PD) to help him lease the space.
On March 26, 2018, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to approve Application No. Z0218-0024, to amend the Planned Development to allow additional uses to be permitted in the PD.
Recommended/Desired Action
After the public hearing, staff recommends approval of the proposed ordinance.
