This request is for the purchase of portable radios for the police department as part of the P25 radio system that was approved by the City Council on June 15, 2015. The police department has issued all available radios to officers. These radios will be issued to newly hired officers and several will be kept in reserve for temporary issue to officers who have radios in need of maintenance.
Financial Implications
The City Council approved the purchase of portable radios for officers as part of Amendment No. 3 to the Fiscal Year 2017-18 Confiscated Seizure Fund budget on February 19, 2018. Funds are available in the Fiscal Year 2017-18 Confiscated Seizure Fund account.
