FARO Technologies is the sole developer and supplier of FARO zone software which incorporates direct integration of Fargo Focus point cloud data from scans into a simple to use program for full scene documentation. Purchase of this scanner would be used for serious injury accidents, fatalities and major crimes involving crime scene. The scanner is capable of recording millions of points at crime scenes in a short period of time. All points and measurements get recorded from the scene which increases the data integrity. The point cloud from these measurements can be imported into software to create 2D and 3D scale maps and images. The viewer can then “walk-through” the crime scene in 3D. FARO has also supplied a sole-source letter for this equipment.
Financial Implications
Funding is available through the Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation (4B) that was approved by the 4B Board on April 25, 2018.
