Telephone services, including local and long distance services for all city facilities, are administered by the Telecommunications Division of the Information Technology Department. A breakdown of the monthly recurring services is as follows:
Local Services:
Local services are provided by AT&T. The monthly recurring charges are for: four public router interfaces (PRI); one Hi Cap circuit with ethernet service; seven miscellaneous circuits; 11 point-to-point ring down circuits; one T-1 circuit for inbound/outbound voice/data traffic; 24 business hunt lines; seven DSL lines; 11 UVERSE lines; 201 single flat lines; and public safety emergency services (911) and disaster routing services.
Long Distance:
Long distance services are provided by the same contract. Monthly charges are billed for telephone and fax lines.
Financial Implications
Annual telephone charges are budgeted annually by each department and expensed accordingly.
