As set forth in the plans and specifications, this project is designed to construct a new four-foot sidewalk including some drainage improvements for the segment between Piccadilly Boulevard and Kirkwood Street. This sidewalk improvement project would benefit students who walk to the newly constructed Frasier Middle School and West Mesquite High School.
Bid notices were broadcast through the BidSync electronic bidding system, published in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper and posted on the City’s website. Two competitive bids were received and opened on June 5, 2018.
The City’s engineering staff has reviewed references and other qualification information submitted by the low bidder and recommends award of the base bid to La Banda, LLC.
Financial Implications
Funding for the project is budgeted from CDBG grant funding and from the General fund.
