This resolution authorizes application of the City of Mesquite to the Texas Main Street Program of the Texas Historical Commission to become a designated Downtown Revitalization Program.
This resolution, if adopted, will indicate the City of Mesquite’s support of an application for designation as a Texas Main Street Program community. A resolution of support is a mandatory part of the application.
This resolution indicates that the City of Mesquite will provide financial support for staffing, professional development, operations and administration of a Main Street program for a period of at least five years. The Downtown Development Manager will be designated to coordinate the program on behalf of the City of Mesquite and serve as the principal local liaison to the state program.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
