Title

A resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute and approve the First Amendment to the Project Specific Agreement amending the Master Road and Bridge Interlocal Maintenance Agreement with Dallas County for the purpose of repaving certain specific “Type B” roadways within the City of Mesquite.

Body

On April 17, 2017, the City Council approved the Project Specific Agreement (PSA) with Dallas County to participate in the mill and asphalt overlay on the following three road segments:

1)                     Northwest Drive from IH-30 to Oates Drive (Completed)

2)                     Gus Thomasson Road from Karla Drive to City Limits

3)                     Gus Thomasson Road from Whitson Way to IH-30

The two segments on Gus Thomasson Road will be completed after the reconstruction of Gus Thomasson Road between Oates Drive and Karla Drive is completed. The City has completed the rehabilitation work on Northwest Drive and the construction cost exceeded the original cost estimate. Therefore, Dallas County is willing to amend the original PSA to allocate an additional $200,000.00, for a total of $647,500.00 toward the repair of these three segments. The PSA commits the City to match funds in the amount of $647,500.00 for paving cost. Funding for this project is included in the City’s Capital Improvement Plan.
