An ordinance providing funds for Fiscal Year 2018-19 by adopting and approving the budget for said period and appropriating and setting aside the necessary funds out of the general and other revenues of the City for said fiscal year for the maintenance and operation of various departments and activities of the City, for capital and other improvements of the City and for all other expenditures included in said budget.

The attached financial schedules represent the City of Mesquite’s proposed plan of operations for Fiscal Year 2018-19 commencing October 1, 2018, and ending September 30, 2019. This plan of operations is the result of numerous City Council/Staff strategy presentations, discussion and opportunities for citizen input on the proposed budget. A written summary of Fiscal Year 2018-19 budget highlights is provided in the attached memorandum.
Recommended/Desired Action
After closing the budget public hearing, the City Council must vote to either adopt the budget at this meeting or postpone adoption of the budget at the next Council meeting scheduled for September 17, 2018.
