An ordinance amending Chapter 16 of the City Code amending the cost associated with fire hydrant meter deposits, water service connections and sanitary sewer service connections.
Body
The current sections of the Code of the City of Mesquite regarding water meter costs, fire hydrant meter rental, water and sanitary sewer service connections, was last updated in June of 2000 and does not cover the current cost of materials and services. This ordinance updates the relevant sections of the Code to reflect current material costs, introduces pricing for radio read water meters, lists approved meter sizes and clarifies maintenance responsibility for water and sanitary sewer services.
Financial Implications
This ordinance will allow the City to charge current material costs for the referenced materials and services, thereby recouping the actual cost of materials plus applicable stocking and administrative fees.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
