An ordinance amending Section 10.3 of the Community Appearance Manual thereby amending the requirements for lighting on buildings.
Body
In addressing various Sign Code issues, concerns have been expressed by the City Council regarding lighting on buildings. Lighting that is not part of a sign, but architectural in nature is proposed to be addressed through this amendment to the Community Appearance Manual.
The amended Section 10.3 is proposed to limit flashing or other similar changing of lights to no more frequently than every two minutes, prohibit motion, prohibit rapid light intensity changes and prohibit outlining of windows with lights.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
