Conduct a public hearing and consider an ordinance for Application No. Z0818-0060, submitted by Mohammad Siddiqi, for a change of zoning from Commercial to Commercial with a Conditional Use Permit to allow a variety store, located at 3012 Big Town Boulevard, Suite 100.
(No responses in favor or opposition to the application have been received from property owners within the statutory notification area. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommends approval of the application with certain stipulations.)
Body
The applicant proposes opening a variety store business in a 2,230-square-foot lease space in an existing strip center. They will meet all of the new requirements for variety stores including 10 percent of the floor area being dedicated to fresh foods.
On September 24, 2018, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted 6-1 (Ms. Shepard dissenting) to approve Application No. Z0818-0060, for a rezoning from Commercial to Commercial with a Conditional Use Permit to allow a variety store with certain conditions.
Recommended/Desired Action
After the public hearing, staff recommends approval of the proposed ordinance.
