The Fiscal Year 2017-18 Drainage Utility District (DUD) budget includes funding for the design and replacement of park pedestrian bridges and various drainage improvements. The Dunford School Erosion Control Project was included in the proposed drainage improvements and has been separated out as a stand-alone project to expedite construction. The City Council approved an engineering contract on August 21, 2017, with Walter P. Moore & Associates, Inc., for the design of the proposed improvements. The project consists of infilling the eroded area along the sidewalk and pedestrian bridge and the installation of armored erosion mat.

Financial Implications

Bid notices were broadcast through the BidSync electronic bidding system, published in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper and posted on the City’s website. Five responsive bids were received and opened on August 14, 2018.

Walter P. Moore and Associates, Inc., reviewed references and other qualification information submitted and found DCI Contracting, Inc., to have sufficient references and qualifications to recommend approval to award.

The Drainage Utility District (DUD) budget includes adequate funding for this project. Construction should begin in January 2019 and be completed by April 2019.
