Conduct a public hearing for Application No. Z1018-0069, submitted by Petitt Barraza, LLC, on behalf of DR Horton - Texas, Ltd., for a change of zoning from Agriculture to Planned Development-Single Family Residential to allow a single family subdivision, located south of Interstate Highway 20, east of FM 741 and north of Heartland Parkway.
(No responses in favor or opposition to the application have been received from property owners within the statutory notification area. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommends denial of the application.)
Body
The 111-acre site is currently vacant. The applicant proposes a subdivision consisting of 450 single family lots, to be developed in two phases. Other than some open space, no amenities are proposed for the development.
On October 22, 2018, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted 5 to 0 to deny Application No. Z1018-0069, for a rezoning from Agriculture to Planned Development-Single Family Residential.
If the Council approves this request, an ordinance will be prepared for consideration at the November 19, 2018, City Council meeting.
Recommended/Desired Action
After the public hearing, staff recommends approval.
