Title
An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 4610, by deleting Exhibit “C” and adding a new Exhibit “C,” and by amending Section 9, thereby revising the pay plan for commissioned Police and Fire personnel of the City, effective January 1, 2019.
Body
The Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 Pay Plan was adopted by the City Council on October 1, 2018, by Ordinance No. 4610, and included two items in Exhibit “C” that require adjustments to correctly reflect Civil Service pay as previously approved by the City Council.
The two items to be amended are:
• Change the percentage merit increase wording on the Fire Driver-Engineer classification to 4.1346 percent rather than 3 percent. The Budget Division created this amount to ensure proper margin between the new sixth step for Firefighters and the beginning base pay for the first step promotional position of Fire Driver-Engineer.
• Adjust the pay plan amounts for the Police Lieutenant classification to accurately reflect the correct compensation.
Both of these items are necessary to match the amount previously approved by the City Council in the FY 2018-19 budget.

Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
