Title

Conduct a public hearing and consider an ordinance for Application No. Z0818-0062, submitted by Danny Humphrey of Danny’s Mesquite Car Care, for a change of zoning from Service Station to Planned Development-General Retail to allow outdoor storage of vehicles, located at 2933 Motley Drive.

(Two responses in favor and none in opposition to the application have been received from property owners within the statutory notification area. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommends approval of the application with certain stipulations.)

 

Body

The applicant has operated a minor auto repair business at the subject location since 2004. Recently, complaints were received regarding outdoor storage and major auto repair taking place on the property. The owner requested rezoning to allow major auto repair and outdoor storage of vehicles. At the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, the applicant indicated that he does not perform major auto repair.

 

On November 12, 2018, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to approve Application No. Z0818-0062, for a rezoning from General Retail to General Retail allow outdoor storage of vehicles with conditions, but did not approve major auto repair.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

After the public hearing, staff recommends approval of the proposed ordinance.
