Title
A resolution authorizing the sale of two tax-foreclosed properties located at 3637 Bahamas Drive and 700 West College Street in Mesquite, Texas; accepting the offers from the purchasers to purchase the properties; ratifying and approving the Offer and Purchase Agreements executed by the purchasers setting forth the terms and conditions of the sale of the properties; and authorizing the City Manager to execute quitclaim deeds and all other documents necessary or requested to complete the closing and sale of the properties.
Body
A list of tax-foreclosure properties available for sale was listed on the City’s website. The two properties the City received offers on are vacant lots. Tax Code §34.05(j) applied to both offers. A sale under this code discharges and extinguishes all liens foreclosed by the judgment and all post-judgment taxes, penalties and interest, except for prorated taxes for the year of closing, and requires the consent of all taxing units entitled to proceeds of the sale.
Mesquite Independent School District’s Board of Trustees consented to the sale of both properties on December 10, 2018.
Dallas County Commissioners Court consented to the sale of both properties with the passage of Court Order 2019-0032 on January 8, 2019.
