Body
Solid financial policies, based on best practices in local government finances, are key to sound financial operations. The Finance Department would like to update, formalize and add to the financial policies used to guide City of Mesquite financial operations. Staff will present the proposed financial policies over the next few City Council Pre-Meetings for City Council consideration of approval.
During the Pre-Meeting, the following financial policies will be reviewed and considered for City Council approval at this meeting:
• Debt Continuing Disclosure and Post Issuance Compliance Policy
• Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting Policy
• Annual Budget and Long-Range Financial Plans Policy
• Revenue Management and Expenditure Control Policy
