Hedgerow Software is a Health Permit and Inspection Software that will manage permitting, inspections and complaints for all food establishments, daycares, swimming pools and liquid waste transporters. This system is expandable and should handle the growing needs of the City of Mesquite Health Division for many years to come.
Bid documents were broadcast to vendors through BidSync electronic bidding system, posted on the City’s website and an Advertisement for Bid notice was published in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper. A total of five bid responses were received. Each vendor was invited to present a demonstration. At the conclusion on the demonstrations, two vendors were selected for further consideration. Staff contacted four other cities to gain their input on the two software systems. Based on research, discussion with other cities and the demonstrations, staff recommends that the City enter into a contract with Hedgerow USA Health Inspection and Permitting software.
Financial Implications
Funding is available in the Health Division and Information Technology Division budgets, along with bond funds.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the contract.
