A resolution supporting the Mesquite - Garland Trail Connector Project as nominated in the North Central Texas Council of Governments 2019 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program.

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) announced a Call for Projects under the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP). This program provides funding for a variety of alternative transportation projects including on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities. TAP typically funds 80 percent of a project construction costs and the project sponsor is required to provide a 20 percent match plus the costs of design.
The City supports the Mesquite - Garland Trail Connector Project as nominated in the NCTCOG 2019 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program. This resolution will authorize matching funds, if a project is selected and authorized.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the resolution and submittal of the project. If the project is selected, funding would be provided by either 4B Sales Tax or CO Bond Proceeds.
