A resolution adopting a Procurement Policy for the City of Mesquite.

The City Finance Department is proposing to formalize certain financial policies of the City in order to strengthen financial operations and obtain City Council approval of each policy.
This policy has been in place for many years and is intended to set policies and procedures for the purchasing activity of the City of Mesquite. The policy is written to ensure compliance with the State of Texas’ competitive bidding statutes and overall procurement process for local governments. A proper understanding of purchasing policies and procedures can save the City time and money.
The action tonight will formalize the existing policy with City Council approval.
