In conjunction with the recently completed airfield lighting upgrades, the backup generators will provide power to the lighting and navigational systems. These generators will allow the airport to remain open in the event of a power failure.
Financial Implications
As a part of the recent Texas Department of Transportation’s Aviation project (1718MSQTE), the City of Mesquite set aside additional funds in order to provide generators for the newly installed lighting systems.
