Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute a contract amendment with Binkley and Barfield, Inc., for additional design and preparation of construction documents for the State Highway 352 Utility Relocation project in the amount of $24,300.00.
Body
On November 19, 2018, the City Manager approved an engineering contract in the amount of $41,950.00, to design and prepare bid documents for City utility relocations required by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to clear the planned improvements on State Highway 352 (south of US Highway 80). Since approval of the initial contract, additional utility conflicts have been identified related to construction of a new business on State Highway 352.
This amendment will provide for the design and preparation of construction documents for the following items:
• Analysis of TxDOT 100 percent plans and associated changes
• Additional Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) and surveying
• Preliminary / Final design and cost estimates for utility conflicts #8 and #9
• Additional meetings with TxDOT, as required
Financial Implications
This project will be funded through Water Main Replacement funds.

Staff recommends approval of an amendment with Binkley and Barfield, Inc.
