Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute an amendment to a contract with Binkley & Barfield, Inc., for additional design and preparation of construction documents for the Gus Thomasson Road Reconstruction Project (Town East Boulevard to US Highway 80) in the amount of $45,500.00.

City Council approved the original contract for the preparation of construction plans and specifications for the reconstruction of the Gus Thomasson Road Reconstruction Project (Town East Boulevard to US Highway 80) in the amount of $1,034,000.00 on December 5, 2016. This contract amendment will include scope changes to the design contract that will allow the consultant to review the complex traffic control plans, attend construction coordination meetings and to design and amend construction documents to accommodate the Cloverleaf Development. The design changes specific to the Cloverleaf Development include the left-turn lane modifications to the median, utility modifications and the inclusion of street approaches for the two accesses to the development.
Financial Implications
This project is funded by the Towne Centre TIRZ.

Staff recommends the City Manager be authorized to execute an amendment with Binkley & Barfield, Inc.
