Body

The subject property is currently the location of a Conoco gas station and convenience store. The applicant is requesting rezoning to allow minor auto repair services on the property. The existing zoning does not allow any type of auto repair.

 

On April 8, 2019, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to deny Application No. Z0319-0087, for a rezoning from THN, Truman Heights Neighborhood-Mandatory Ground Floor Retail to GR, General Retail to allow minor automobile repair uses in addition to other uses allowed in the General Retail zoning district. On April 9, 2019, the applicant made a timely appeal of the Commission’s denial.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

After the public hearing, staff recommends denial. If approved, an ordinance will be prepared for consideration at the May 20, 2019, City Council meeting.
